USSD Payment

The USSD solution is a mobile payment solution designed for markets where there is a lack of local network infrastructure and smart devices. It can enable featured phones to send mobile payment transactions by inputting the merchant till number, transaction amount and PIN, and it can work under a GSM network.

    Apply for business

    Contact the local UnionPay office, and fill in and submit the application form.

    Merchant-presented QRC integration mode discussion

    The USSD acquirer should consider which integration mode of the merchant-presented QRC it would like to adopt, like ISO 8583 interface, or JSON interface for indirect mode or direct mode.

    Testing environment configuration

    The USSD acquirer or issuer should have established connection with GSCS. The USSD acquirer should submit the testing parameters of its acquiring system to connect with UMPS, and UAIS if applicable. The USSD issuer should submit the testing parameters of

    System development

    The member develops its system according to the implementation guide and technical specification provided by UnionPay.

    Certification test

    When the system development is completed, the member should apply for certification testing on the UTSS portal. If all test cases provided by UnionPay are passed, the member will obtain a T25 certificate.

    Business launch

    After passing the certification test, the business can go live.
